Abiel Garza passed away on June 17, 2021 at the age of 57, in Houston Texas. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Abiel came out a hero and fought a good fight until the end.
He is survived by his beautiful wife Olga of 37 years. He was a proud dad of two daughters, Cynthia Alexis and Laura. His grandchildren Oscar Jr. and Sofia Alexis were his pride and joy. Siblings: Osiel (Martha), Homero (Sanjuana), Argelia, and Nelia (Martin).
He was preceded by his parents Gregorio and Maurilia, parents-In-law Saul and Andrea and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He met the love of his life, Olga, at his brother’s wedding. It was love at first sight and have been inseparable ever since. He adored his daughters, Cynthia his Sunshine and Laura his Wawis. He especially loved his grandkids. Oscar Jr. was his Chiquilin and Sofi was his princess.
During his long hospital stay, his sense of humor made his doctors and nurses laugh daily. He would use his jokes to persuade them to reheat his cold coffee so he could eat his “Honey Buns” and “Empanadas” after hours.
He and his beautiful sense of humor will be truly missed by family and friends.
A visitation for Abiel will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home at Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A celebration of life will occur Friday, June 25, 2021 from 1:30 PM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A committal service will occur Friday, June 25, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079.
