Melinda Rainy McGuire, 58, a native of Terrebonne Parish (Houma, LA) and a resident of LaGrange, TX, passed away peacefully at 11:47 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St Mark's Medical Center in LaGrange, TX.
A public viewing will be conducted from 12:00 p.m. until funeral time at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3966 LA Hwy 311 in Houma, LA. Burial will follow in Crescent Farm Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Byron, Brandon and Brent McGuire (Erica); daughters, Shatondra McGuire and Shanika Beasley (Ron); seventeen grandchildren; stepfather, Robert Nevis, Sr.; brothers, Patrick, Shawn and Chad McGuire, Darrell (Joycelyn) and Robert Nevis, Jr. (JoAnn); sisters, Tiffany McGuire and Edith Carson; two godchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ora Lee McGuire; father, Junius Evans, Jr.; brother, Ronald Ellis; paternal grandparents, Junius, Sr. and Ruth Evans; maternal grandparents, Berwick McGuire, Sr. and Sara Sims.
