Keith Gauno, Jr.

Keith Anthony Gauno Jr. was born in New Orleans, LA August 25, 1977, to the union of Keith Gauno Sr. and Lorriane Hawkins Gauno. He was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend Blaine Clay at New Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a free spirit that was known for taking any mechanical thing apart and putting it back together effortlessly. A natural skill that he inherited from his father. Weedy loved to gather with family and friends and was always open to a home-cooked meal. He was the definition of a “bayou country boy” who could boil food every day of the week and loved to bring people together. A welcoming spirit that he naturally inherited from his mother. Weedy was an intelligent entrepreneur who prided himself on producing new ways to multiply his income to take care of his family.

He joined in union on October 8, 2005, to Angela Monique Sneeze. To this union four children were born, Keith Anthony III “Keedy,” Keshawn Ivorynesha Rice, Sky’Ler Tontiyana Monique, Lorri’Anne Kershawn Monique “Annie,” and Angelina Genevieve Tafarra “Tooda,”. He also fathered  Keiontae Sharaine Clark and Christopher Keith Anthony Young  and a treasured god daughter, Morgan Kellis Smith. Keith was a proud godfather to RaeMonique Kenny, Diontray Brumfield, and Ja’kahi Johnson.

He leaves to treasure his memory, his devoted wife Angela Monique Gauno, mother-in-law Janice Sneeze, 2 sons: Keith III and Christopher, 5 daughters: Keiontae, Keshawn, Sky’Ler, Lorri’Anne, and Angelina, 5 grandchildren: Kennedy Kei’ni , Kameron Keith ,Kamille Ki’ori  Williams, Gianna Crystal and Melody Monrose Young, 2 beloved sisters: Kershawn Monique Gauno and Stephanie Ann Kenny, 1 brother Keith James Jordan Harvey, 2 brother-cousins: Charles Taylor III “Fat Albert” and Lentrell Wesley, a lifelong brother- friend, William Sneeze Jr., and devoted friends Willie Young Jr. and Johnny Lawson and 6 uncles: Belton Gauno Jr., Dalton Hawkins, Milton Hawkins, Terry Hawkins, Pastor Ronnie Williams, and Earl Hasley Sr., 6 aunts: Donna Hawkins-Matthews, Geri Parker, Rosella Jackson, Lucinda LaGarde Thomas, Judy LaGarde Williams, and Elaine Varist, his godparents, Shirley “Sue” Wallace and Bruce “Mummy” Jones Sr., 4 god children, 3 brothers-in-law: William Sneeze Jr., Jesse Jackson, Michael Kenny, 3 sisters-in-law: Tonta, LaTrina, and LaKaria, 4 nephews: Riyadh, Tre’von, and Da’Vaughn, and Kyrie, 5 nieces: Rasheka, Kristol, and RaeMonique, I’yana, Rhylee, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith Gauno Sr. and Lorriane Hawkins- Gauno, his paternal grandparents, Belton Sr. and Genevieve Gauno, his maternal grandparents Octavia Gary-Hawkins and Ellis LaGarde, and nephew Kassidy. Funeral services will be held at Jones Funeral Home. A burial will follow at Southdown Cemetery and a repass will be held at West Houma Gym Saturday November 5, 2022, from 3pm -6pm.
