John David Burrell

John Burrell, age 73, a resident of Franklin, La., died Monday, September 29, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center at 6:48 AM. Visitation will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Special Providence Baptist Church 814 Martin Luther King Jr St. of Baldwin La. from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 1:00 PM. Reverend Willie Jackson will officiate the services. Burial will follow in church cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 53 years Alva M. Sam-Burrell of Franklin, La.; one son, Marvin (Gertie Rose) Burrell of Franklin, La.; two daughters, Karen (Rodney) Davis of Franklin, La. and Alzina (Clarence) Dural of Lafayette, La.; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beulas (John) Thomas of Silver Springs, Md., Ethel (Samuel) Smith of Vallejo, Ca., Marion Burrell of Upper Malboro, Md.and Ruth Tillman of Algiers, La.; thirteen sister-in-laws, six brother-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. John D. was preceded in death by: his father and mother, Herman Burrell, Sr. and Elizabeth Shaw-Burrell; three brothers, Herman Burrell, Jr., Charles Burrell, Sr. and Calvin Burrell; one sister, Ruby B. Duncan; his father and mother in law, four brother in laws and two sister in laws.
