A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Paul Baptist Church, 162 Hwy 400 in Napoleonville, LA, 70390. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Nicholas Thomas; sons, Herbert Thomas, Jr. (Heather) and Jeremiah Lacy; daughter, Nikita Thomas Gilton (Bradrick); six grandchildren; brothers, Huey (Judy), Earl (Betty), and Alvin Thomas, Sr. (Annette), Ulysses Cooks; devoted companion, Marie Lacy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel, Sr. and Gertrude Garner Thomas; brothers, Frank Cole, James, Larry, Lawrence and Samuel Thomas, Jr.; sister, Eva Mae Morris; paternal grandparents, Jimmy Thomas and JoAnn Johnson; maternal grandparents, Sam Garner and Irene Davis.
