A public walk-through viewing will be conducted from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). A private service will be held. Mr. Colar will be laid to rest in the Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel with military honors. Reverend Terrence August will officiate the services. Services will be accessible by viewing the Jones Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook Page at 1:00 PM on Thursday October 1, 2020.
Memories of Henry will forever remain in the hearts of his: three daughters, Sandra (John) Collins of Sugarland, TX, Maggie Colar-Hobbs of Houston, TX, and Cynthia (Rev. Terrence) August – Franklinton, LA; one son - Carroll (Sindy) Colar; his grandchildren, Chanda, Jacinda, and Deidra Collins, Tonya (Gregory) Bryant, Candis (Jonathan) Stauber, Kewanda and Katasha August, Kenita (Steven) Nicoulin, Tatiana (Robert) Sykes, Ty’Henry and Taylor Colar, Jemiyi Navy and Kieanna Grey; great-grandchildren, Kenley, Ellery and Bellamy Collins, Michael Bryant, Teyasia and Zara Stauber, Kellen, Ava, Olivia and Lola Nicoulin, Camden Colar, Elijah Talbot and Jemiyi Navy, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Carroll Bobb, Sr.; to sisters-in-law. Nadine Wood and Inez Bobb and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by: his wife, Ethel Bobb Colar; two children, Janice Carr and Patrick Colar; his parents, Landor and Mary Jane Colar; sisters, Irma Dugas, Amelia Hills, Hilda Sims, Clara Lewis, Laura Williams, and Maggie Godfrey and his brothers, Alfred, Edward and Mannie Colar.
