Visitation will be observed on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the St Jules Catholic Church 601 Magnolia Street Franklin, LA 70538. A Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Father Peter Emusa will serve as the Celebrant. Charles will be laid to rest on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA.
Charles was in the 11th Armored Calvary Black Horse Division, (Tunnel Rat) during the Vietnam War being a two time Purple Heart recipient and also received a honorable discharge from the United State Army.
Charles was born to the union of the late Horace and Edith Henry, Sr., on May 18, 1945 in Franklin, LA. He was a member of the St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin. He loved to work in the garden, fish, and sing.
Memories of Charles will forever remain in the hearts of his wife of twenty-eight years, Martha Henry of Franklin, LA; two daughters, Consueleta (Herbert) Jenkins of Broussard, LA and Takishy (Terek) Myers of Falls Church, VA; one son, Nathan (Donecia) Jones of Franklin, LA; one brother, Horace (Fabiola) Henry, Jr. of Franklin, LA; a sister-in-law, Louise Henry of Baldwin, LA; two grandchildren, Thriston (Sasskia) Carson of Lafayette, LA and Kiyada (Ryan) Upshaw of Irving, TX; one great-grandson, Zayden Carson of Lafayette, LA; four brothers-in-law, Jerome Wilson, Gene (Rebecca) Marks of Jeanerette, LA, Michael Vappie of Orlando, FL, and Curtis Wilson of Beaumont, TX; six godchildren, a special cousin, Mevelola Guy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph Henry, Sr., and three sisters, Essie Delasbour, Kathleen Henry and Daisy Bell Henry.
