Wilbur Dean Joseph, 97, of Hot Springs, AR passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife Roberta Joseph by his side 9 August 2023. Dean was born 27 September 1925, graduated from University of Oklahoma, and was a military veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Warrant Officer 1 where he trained as a bombardier. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Following his military service, he worked as a CPA for 50 years where he was known as the Dean of Income Tax. Dean enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, completing sudoku and walking downtown Hot Springs.
He was predeceased by his father Wilbur Joseph, mother Stella Streetman, daughter Christy Joseph and son Gary Harbin. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Roberta Joseph, sons David Joseph, Jimmie Harbin (Brandy) and Hunter Harbin, daughters Jennifer Lambert and Adalynn Harbin, grandchildren Caleb Harbin, Jena Harbin, Jacob Harbin, Hubert Joseph, Lauren Joseph, Ashley Lunney, Jasmine Harbin, Rebel Harbin, and Kandall Harbin, eight great grandchildren and his many lifelong friends he made over the years.
A memorial service will be held at Gross Funeral Home on 26 August 2023 at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Jimmy Holland of Hospice Home Care, Teddy Frye of The Church of the Open Door and Doug Jones of First Freewill Baptist Church. Dean was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church for over 25 years. Food and fellowship will be provided at First Freewill Baptist Church at 901 W St Louis Street, Hot Springs, AR.
The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy English who Dean thought of as his friend and for the many years of service to Dean's health as well as Hospice Home Care, especially his nurse Lona, CNA Jaelon, and Amanda from Southern Caregivers for all of her assistance for the family.
