Marlene was born August 12, 1938 in Point Cedar, Arkansas to the late Henry Lee Phillips and Gladys Harrison Phillips.
Marlene was also predeceased by her husband, Melvin David Ennis; son, Michael David Ennis; brothers Glen, Melvin and Ray Phillips and by her step mother, Flora M. Phillips.
She is survived by her sister, Cloye Light of Magnolia, Arkansas; Tommy Blocker, Randy Phillips, Donna Lemay, Sheryl Asher, Austin Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends Pamela Moore, Gavin Collins, Tessa and Dylan Brewer, Cheryl Colwell, Jeremy and Nikki Godwin, Elizabeth Bickerstaff, and all the children she took care of and were so special to her .
Marlene was a voracious reader. Her love of books second only to her love of children. She cared for many, many children over the years and was affectionately called “Nana” and “Nanny.”
Special thanks to the caring staff of Arkansas Hospice especially to Dr. Koehn and nurses, Jessica and Teri, Fourth Floor Staff and Arkansas Home Health.
Pallbearers will be Lance Womack, Jeremy Godwin, Bill Moore, Steve Kincannon, Hunter and Greg Wallace.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 19 at 2 pm with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.
