Shirley D. Beckham

Shirley Dee Hecke Beckham, 82, of Hot Springs passed away October 23, 2016. Born to the late Louis and Jessie Hecke, Shirley was one of ten children and arrived with a love of all things sweet- sweet food, sweet parties, and her sweet family. Yet everyone who knew her would agree, there was nothing and no one sweeter than Shirley. Generous beyond measure, she made sure all of her nieces and nephews had Christmas and birthday gifts every year and helped those she felt were in need. Always with a sugary smile, Shirley loved her birthday parties and playing board games of all types- especially afternoons of Bingo and Farkle. Greeting her in Heaven with a giant piece of angel food cake are her husband, Charles Beckham; brothers Bunk, Walter, Earl Wayne, and Billy Hecke, and sister, Delia Ward. Those left to celebrate her sweet life are her brothers Bobby and Roy (Juanita)Hecke; sisters JoAnn (James) Beckwith and Diana(Jerry, Jr.) Hawthorn; and more nieces and nephews (including the grand and great variety) than anyone should be allowed to love- and she loved them all. A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at Gross Funeral home Thursday, October 27 with a visitation starting at noon and service beginning at 1pm.
