She graduated from Lakeside High School and later attended National Park College. Sarah was a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist from 1991-2005. She was also the President of the American State Radiologic Technologists, Arkansas chapter, from 1998-1999 and 2006-2007. During her tenure as ARSRT president, Sarah lobbied tirelessly for, and was successful in procuring passage of state licensure requirements legislation.
Sarah was bold, outspoken, and unafraid to share her opinion and ready to persuade others to her side. She was generous and always giving her time and attention to her family and friends alike. Sarah was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed reading murder mystery novels, and cheered on the Arkansas Razorbacks to victory!
Sarah is survived by her husband Ralph Lawrence, brother William A. Meeks, sister-in-law Lynn Meeks, grandniece Emma Meeks, grandnephew Cyrus Meeks, grandniece Savannah Riley Moody, aunt Hilda Nakagawa, niece Michelle "Micki" Philips and husband Doctor John, niece Abby Sowell, nephew Evan Sowell, nephew Matt Meeks, and niece-in-law Angela Meeks, grandnieces Lanie Meeks and Emerson Meeks, brother-in-law Kenneth Lawrence, sister-in-law Kathryn Lawrence, Niece KaylaSue Mae Lawrence, niece KamiLee Rose Lawrence, nephew Kenden Lee Lawrence, and mother-in-law Winnie Manning.
She was preceded in death by her parents William "Pat" Meeks and Hebe Meeks, and by her nephew, Anthony "T-boy" Meeks Jr.
A visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hot Springs, AR, on Friday, June 23, at 1:30 pm with a funeral service to start at 2:30pm. A graveside service will follow.
