Robert Allan Pastorek, 70, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born in Berwyn, Illinois on August 22, 1948 to the late Stanley Frank Pastorek and Clara Margaret Studzinski Pastorek DeStefano.
He was known to many as "Hospital Bob", having 25 years in Veteran’s Administration medical service. He was a Vietnam veteran, proudly serving his country in the Unites States Army in the 1st Ranger Airborne 75th Infantry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0256, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, and was a certified open water diver. When he wasn’t serving others, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling, travel, photography, gardening, and watching the Cubs. He lived his life fearlessly, with aspirations later in life of becoming a pilot.
Robert had a big personality- cracking jokes and bringing life to any party. He knew how to have a good time and ensured everyone else was too. An avid “parrot-head,” he is probably at the Margaritaville in Heaven right now.
Left to cherish his legacy is the love of his life and wife of 26 years, Beverly Pastorek; his mother-in-law, Lena Reinhold; sister, Pat Barnes; brother, Sal DeStefano; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
