Joyce Wallace Findley, 83, of Hot Springs, formerly of White Hall, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2018. She was born in Leggett, Texas (but raised in Houston) on May 7, 1935 to the late Clyde and Bertie May Wallace.
In her early years Joyce was a successful business woman who worked as a bookkeeper. On March 21, 1952 she married Paul; they shared over 66 years of marriage. Joyce was a woman of the Lord and a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church where she was an active participant of the United Methodist Women. She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was elected the position of Worthy Matron. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed cooking for her family and definitely knew her way around a sewing machine.
Joyce and Paul always had an open home for all the teenagers when their children were growing up as well as anyone else who wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee or some of Joyce’s home cooking.
Meeting Joyce in Heaven are her parents; siblings, Enoch Wallace, R.H. Wallace Sr, Lillian Johnson, Walter Wallace and daughter-in-law, Lydia Findley.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Paul Findley; children, Paula Findley and Garry Findley; grandson, Ian Findley; adopted granddaughters, Pamela Ratliff Craig, Jane Ratliff Boatright and Mary Margaret Ratliff Gay, who lovingly referred to her as “Joy Joy”; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends and her beloved canine companion, Missy.
