James Edward Craft, 91, of Hot springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
He was born May 2, 1928 in Westville, Illinois to the late Chester & Kathleen (Kelly) Craft. Jim grew up in Belgium Town, IL during the depression and attended Westville High School.
He served honorably with the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
In 1979, he married Alice Raben in Lansing, IL. In 1980, he retired from a long career as a Rail Road Engineer and moved to Hot Springs, where his family vacationed when he was a child. Jim was a long time member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Jim was a very compassionate & generous man to those in need. He touched the lives of many and is loved by many. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, participating in senior marathons, swimming at the YMCA and following the stock market.
His surviving nieces & nephews would like to thank St. Vincent, Arkansas Hospice, Father George Sanders and caregivers Virginia, Carol, Sally and Dana for their wonderful care.
He is preceded in death by his wife, sisters Mary Eileen Everest and Elizabeth McCorkle and brothers Donald, Charles & Chester Craft.
Jim is survived by sisters-in-law Jean Craft and Darinka Craft.
