“Gloriosa Mariposa”, 87, of Pearcy, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Born June 26, 1929 in Houma, LA to a shoemaker and a nurse, she was raised in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She studied in New Orleans, Ft Worth and Dallas, while working in Houma and Shreveport. Since 1965 she has remained a resident of Garland County. She began her career early with the VA Hospital then enjoyed a lengthy tenure with the Social Security Administration, retiring from the Hot Springs branch after 30 years of service to the public. She was a graduate of Ecole de L'Union Françoise, where she received a Bronze Medal of Excellence from France. She fluently spoke 5 languages and had an unforgettable sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe and Felicity D'Angelo; husband Kenneth Addison; brothers Jody, Joseph, Phillip and Victor D'Angelo, and Father Claude Boudreaux, S.J.; sister Augustine D'Angelo, and great-grandson Ashton Freeman. She is survived by her adopted brother Douglas Billiott; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Joe Duncan, Connie Kinsey, and Donna and Dennis Rusher; grandchildren, Lisa Kissire, Stephen Freeman and Ashley Shelton, Cody and Gillian Kinsey, and Casey Kinsey and Paige Goodman Wolven; great-grandchildren, Severian and Devin Kissire, Karissa Kissire and Jacob Golden, Serech Kissire, Jaidyn Freeman, Brooklynn Freeman, and Henry Kinsey (due in April); and great-great-grandchildren Jax Kissire, Graysen Golden, and Ares Kissire (due in May). She will be cremated per her wishes. A Celebration of Gloria’s Life is scheduled at The Waters Hotel, 340 Central Ave., in Hot Springs, from 11 to 2, Saturday, February 11th. Family and friends are welcome at this time. Hotel parking is available directly past the hotel on the left. A sign will be posted on the entry door. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Garland County Humane Society and the Garland County Library.
