George F. Lindholm, age 95, transitioned peacefully on April 15, 2024, joining his beloved wife of 69 years, Marianne Swanson Lindholm, who preceded him in death on June 13, 2023. He was born September 15, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, the eldest son of George G. Lindholm and Hazel M. Isaacson Lindholm. His only brother Wayne R. Lindholm (Barbara living), also preceded him in death.
George graduated from North Park Academy and attended North Park Jr. College before joining the Army. He served a total of 6 years in the 8th Infantry Division and later in the Army Signal Corps as a photographer and film archivist. Upon leaving the army, he worked for Hedrich Blessing Photographers. After a long career in various industries, he ended his career working for Willow Creek Community Church, where he was instrumental in establishing the WCCC Care Center, which continues to support the needs of the local community. After retiring George and Marianne continued their community service, including facilitating the opening of a women’s shelter in Hot Springs.
George is survived by his children, Michael Lindholm (Kathy Salatas), Judy Lindholm (Greg Oehm), and Jeanine Surf (Alan Surf). George and Marianne have five grandchildren, David Lindholm, Jessica Oliver, Daniel Oliver, Allison Surf, and Robin Surf; and three great-grandchildren, Luke Harris, Kendall Surf, and Kinsley Surf-Jones. His kind heart and positive attitude will be sorely missed by his family and the many friends he has touched over the years.
