It has already been a year.  Time passes so quickly.  I remember Dorothy from our Sunday school class and she was always a joy to see and talk with her.  She is still missed.  🥲🥲

Dorothy was a Parent Trainer in my employmentt the Johnson Co. Center for Exceptional children in Clarksville.  She and her family were next door neighbors to a great aunt. 
She was a true lady and a devoted Christian to her Lord, her family and chosen with special needs. She was a great encourager not only to me, but to countess others. 
Her depth of love and concern for children and their families was truly a gift from God!!  I became a better person and administrator because of her.
I am blessed to have her book about being adopted.  I was blessed to have had her in life!!!

What a privilege to have been a neighbor and friend at Country Club  Village.  Dorothy and Doc were delightful and always considerate and helpful in sharing their talents and enthusiasm for living life to the fullest. They are greatly missed here.

I’m so sorry to see her passing and not being at her visitation.  Her kindness and smile was always something I so much appreciated each Sunday morning.  She will be greatly missed and she will now be reunited with her husband Rankin.  Good bye for now Dorothy until we meet again.

My whole life Dorothy was always trying to save my soul. I’m still not sure if it ever took but I am eternally grateful for her efforts. It means that she truly cares for me and I am thankful. This is not surprising to those that knew her for she truly cared for everyone she ever met. I am going to miss her. 

When I think of your mom, I think of laughter. We shared many moments at Camp Peniel sharing joy in our children, camp antics, and life. I appreciated the wisdom she shared and her kind, independent spirit.  How fortunate y’all were to have such a loving, devoted mom. 
My prayers are for you on your loss of a virtuous woman. 

To Dorothy’s Family,
   There are many professed Christians among us but few who consistently display examples of love taught by Jesus.  Dorothy was our friend and neighbor at CCV.   Bringing us closer to faith by sharing her life with many acts of kindness, she demonstrated sincere good will and concern for all her neighbors.  We thank God for blessing us with her precious life on earth and celebrate the fulfillment of a life well lived now that she’s reached victory in heaven. To Nella,Russell,Jane,and George I am one of the countless lives that Dorothy touched. 
Her sweet smile and kindness to a young new neighbor who was also a new mom in the early 1970’s has never been forgotten. 
She was dear and beloved to me and my family throughout the many years we lived in Clarksville. And today she is in the very presence of the One she so faithfully served. Her eye has seen and her ear has heard all that God had prepared for her. 
And just maybe she and my beloved Benny 
will share sweet memories of when we were across the street neighbors in Clarksville.

Nanny is the kind of woman we probably all aspire to be like. My favorite memory is of her joining me and my grands (her great grands) daily via Zoom to study the Book of Revelation during the pandemic. She loved the Lord and continued desiring to learn more of Him even in her 90s.  She will be missed. Thankful for our eternal hope in Jesus, knowing we will meet again in Heaven. Prayers for our precious Kennedy’s. 

Dear Friends,

I am so sorry for your loss of our dear friend, Dorothy. I can hardly remember back far enough that Dorothy and Rankin weren't in our lives. They were the cornerstone of the First Baptist Church in Clarksville. Dorothy had a heart of gold shown through her many kind and caring daily deeds. Her smile and twinkling eyes made a person feel good about the world. I know your parents are rejoining in Heaven with our church family. My thoughts and prayers are going out to you during this time of deep sorrow.
