Charles was born August 7, 1940 in Okemah, Ok. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1958 and remained in touch with many of his classmates, enjoying monthly lunches up until his passing. Although he started out in the printing industry working at newspapers in Seattle, Chicago, and San Francisco, Charles spent most of his working years in the fence industry. In 1982 he started Fence Brokers Inc. in Bryant, AR and was a respected businessman. Although he “retired” several years ago, he still came into the office once a week until he was not able to make the drive. He thoroughly enjoyed working and being in the office. It was his second home. Charles also enjoyed coaching baseball, the Arkansas Razorbacks, spending time with his family, and reading anything he could get his hands on.
Charles is survived by his son, Chris Walker and his wife Laura of Benton, AR, daughter Traci Hogue and her husband Michael of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren, Gage Stark, Preslie and Colt Walker, Katelyn and Caroline Hogue, his sister Ernestine Roper of Hot Springs, AR, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva (Duke) Walker, his brothers Robert (Debbie) and Donald Walker, his sister Brenda Walker, and his granddaughter Kennedy Hogue.
A special thank you to the people at Elite Hospice in Hot Springs, his three wonderful caregivers, and his niece, Jackelyn Harris, for their loving care and support during his final days.
