While Carolyn was a “jack of many trades” she retired from the state of Texas in 2007 from employment with the State of Texas. Her life’s work was really in taking pride in her family, children, and grandchildren which is also how she became fondly known as “Everyone’s Nana.” Her feisty, firey, and humorous spirit along with her contagious laughter filled many people’s hearts. She leaves a legacy to many more than she raised through her countless words of wisdom and colloquialisms. Whether you needed advice, laughter, a hug, or simply a shoulder to lean on, she was always willing to meet you and leave you filled was Nana’s love.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Anthony Chapel in Garvan Woodland Gardens on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to GWG may be made in her honor to purchase a memorial tree in the Gardens.
