Betty’s dad was a longtime Hot Springs grocer, particularly with the family’s familiar Razorback #19 store on Albert Pike. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1958 and soon after married Jack Robert Berry,also of Hot Springs. They were married 64 years. Betty was a devoted wife and mother and exemplified the love of Christ to all. She was a longtime member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she served as church secretary. In her early career, she worked as a bank teller for Arkansas Bank & Trust, and before retiring, helped manage the Little Rock office of Berry & Associates, CPAs for five years. She enjoyed her friendships from her church and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty was known for her lovely smile, hosting friends and family, and for her gracious, giving spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Mona Helmer. She is survived by her husband Jack, who most recently served as her loving caregiver, along with their three sons Joseph “Taun” Berry of Oxford, Mississippi; Mark Berry, and his wife Julie, of Glenwood, Arkansas; Tim Berry, and his wife Danna, of Ft. Smith; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister Cynthia Naven, of Hot Springs; brother Craig Lingo, and his wife Mindy, also of Hot Springs; a special sister-in-law, Wanda Bailey of Bentonville, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the recent care provided by Betty’s cousin Connie Haight and Hospice Homecare.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, 120 Wrights St., with funeral services planned at Gross Friday, September 30 at 10 a.m. Interment will be held following at Cunningham Cemetery in Royal.
