Alexander Layne Spradlin, known by all as Alex, passed away at the age of 29 on October 28th.
Alex’s life was defined by his deep love for animals and his infectious personality. His smile could light up a room. Alex had a profound appreciation for music. During his middle school and high school years, playing the saxophone for the Bismarck Band brought him tremendous joy. Alex cultivated many, enduring memories in his hometown of Bismarck.
He is survived by his parents Chad and Cassie Spradlin and Summer and Brent Calhoun; siblings Gunnar (Hannah) and Madyson (Cody); grandparents Larry and Becky Spradlin and Ron and Debbie Shuffield; aunts and uncles Bud and Sharlee Purdom, Ryan and Adi Shuffield, and Spencer and Kristin Shuffield; cousins Brooks, Braden, Brody, Aubree, Grayson, and Kennedy; nephew Jude; and many extended family members.
