Good Morning Mr. Murray,

I have never had the opportunity to meet you, but I’ve hear a lot about you from Rebecca and Travis. They are my dearest of friends and family, which I was fortunate to have met them over a decade during my Coast Guard career. I know you would be a proud Papa, as Becca has accomplished so much in the last few years, and has such unwavering strength, and from the stories she’s told me I have no doubt she gets that from you. Her, Travis, and I are unfortunately part of a “club” that seems too early to be a part of…the loss of parent. Her and Travis will continue to grow and be successful, and I feel fortunate to be able to witness it. I know Bobo is probably sitting on your lap as you both continue to watch over them like guardian angels.

Mornin' Dad! Travis and I are thinking of you while on our annual HHI, SC RV trip. It's because of you that we got into RV'g. We miss your daily check-ins to chat about our day and the current politics. I'm sure you're taking great care of Tucker and keeping Helen entertained. I'm reminiscing today about all the laughs we had together. You had such great stories to tell! I miss hearing your voice and getting your daily check-in calls. I know you and little Bobo are together at peace in heaven, smiling down on us!

I am currently on a another successful deployment - CD and AMIO missions. No Johnny, I am not driving the boat yet, they won't let me on the helm : )  Happy belated Veterans Day - thank you for your service. I'll visit soon to lay something down that's festive for the holidays. Thinking of you often and needing encouragement to pursue OUR goal - Master Chief! Walk alongside me and hold my hand, Dad. We have a long way to go.

So sad right now, Dec.19 2020. Just looked up. Bill Murray found out that he passed Nov. 8. He will be missed I am going to drink a diet coke and have a ciggirete Don't smoke but I will today. So sorry for the families lost.

Morgan and I would like to send our appreciation to those that were able to attend dad's committal service and celebration of life dinner on Monday, December 7th.  As unfortunate the circumstances were, it was a memorable occasion to reconnect with family and friends -  fitting for in keeping with dad's memory. I'll share pictures via posts within the online obituary in the near future.

     Uncle Bill was a true country gentleman.  He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell you.  It was never a fast trip to see uncle Bill if you came to see him he always gave you some to drink something to eat and you end up spending at least an hour longer than you thought you would.  He treated everyone like family.  

     I’ll never forget when he was selling his home on ODOM Road I will go by in the morning on Saturday and he would always have a big breakfast feast.  He had more food on the breakfast countertop then Shoney’s big boy restaurant Buffett. 

   He was a very very smart man and knew how to get things done in the military and in the civilian world. When others saw a roadblock uncle Bill always saw a door to get in and get it done.  I’m going to miss him he was an amazing friend father brother uncle and they don’t make many men like him any longer

He loved  his children and was always bragging about their accomplishments to me whenever we spoke.

Rest easy Uncle Bill! I’ll always smile and laugh as you never knew what time in the night you and Uncle Johnny would show up...even to my barracks in Germany! Share that laugh and smile in Heaven! Love you! 🙏❤️

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Becca, and your family. I may have only met your dad once in person, but I know he greatly impacted your life and shaped you to be the way you are now.  Hugs! 

This picture brings back so many memories  - totally forgot about the camcorder and suspenders, but no one would forget his plaid shirts w/ front pockets for pens and smokes. Priceless!

Pictures say a lot about Bill (WM).  Jay always enjoyed seeing WM and John , even if it was 1:00 an.  They would be going to the farm at Loop Road.  Jay, WM and John would sit and talk for hours.  I had one of the best vacations, when I visited WM/Lynn and the children in Germany.  WM was big on planning a vacation.  The last time I saw WM was at Jays funeral.  WM and John came and that meant a lot to me.  I am sorry for your loss,  I know you have a lot of memories of your own.  Love you all

Thank you - Melissa, Helen, Cathy, Catherine, Bill, and Kelly - for your kind words and sharing fond memories of dad. It warms our hearts and brings to mind other special memories we tend to forget over time. I'm thankful for the friends he had and all the friends I have because of him.

Rebecca and Morgan, I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad. Big Bill, Little Bill, and Johnny were the Three Amigos, and I will always be grateful that they all met so many years ago, and became a part of our family. 
Big Bill was always thoughtful and kind, with just a little mischief, thrown in for fun. He wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone, any way he could.
I know how hard the loss of someone so close is, but I also know that the memories you all shared, will help you each and every day. Whether the memories bring a smile, a laugh, or tears, remember each memory was made with Love, from Big Bill’s great big heart!!

Bill is already  missed by many friends  for 47 years he was like a brother  and i will have sad days but our happy .memories will always out way the sad ones.  Bill ,you were one of a kind and you will always be loved for just being you.


Bill was like a father to me. I'll never forget the wisdom and advice that he gave to me. I know that he was proud of Rebecca and I for what we have accomplished in our careers and our personal life. I recall our many conversations that he and I had where he always asked how we were doing. I'm thankful for being able to know him and I am such a lucky man to be able to share my life with his daughter who he loved so much. I remember when I asked Bill for permission to marry Rebecca; I was so nervous! I feel heartbroken that he is no longer with us but I am joyful to know that he is looking down on us with a big smile that only Billy Boy could have. May your heart and mind be at ease Bill.

Dad, we were by each other's side through it all, and just as I did on Sunday, I'll never let go. I wasn't ready even though you were, but I'm relieved to know you're now at peace and no longer tired as you would tell me. I'm forever grateful to have had our special father & daughter moments and our long talks while sitting on the porch. You gave me the necessary tools to succeed, you taught me how to forgive and how to love unconditionally, but more importantly, you taught me to believe in myself and to stand on my own. Your love and wisdom was priceless and will not be forgotten. Please know I'll be alright and you did a great job...but dad,  I'll still need to call on you so listen for "Daddy, I need you".
