Shirley Jane Gwynn

Mrs. Shirley Jane Gwynn, 92, went to Heaven to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Born Shirley Jane (Janee) Boomer on June 18, 1932 in East Tawas City, Michigan, Shirley was the eldest child of James (Jim) Richard Boomer and Sybil Schanbeck Boomer. Shirley graduated from business college in Michigan and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper until meeting and marrying the love of her life, A1c Steve DeLare Gwynn. After marriage, Shirley lovingly dedicated her life to her husband and raising their three children. She also deeply loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley spent many hours volunteering her time teaching children's Sunday School classes and working in church nurseries wherever they were stationed while Steve was in the Air Force and after he retired they settled in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, James Richard Boomer and Sybil Schanbeck Boomer; her loving husband, Steve DeLare Gwynn; her sister, Sharon Boomer Ramus; and a brother, James Richard (Sonny) Boomer, who died in infancy. Left to cherish her memory are her three children and their spouses, Debra Strickland (husband Gordon), Dawn Miller (husband John), and James Gwynn (wife Betty); as well as her five beloved grandchildren, David Miller, Kelly Dunham, Sean Miller, Jessica Gwynn, Michael Gwynn, and six wonderful great grandchildren.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 1:30 PM, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A burial will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
