He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lonnie, Ira, Marvin, and Lloyd Burns.
Leaving to cherish his memories are wife, Shirley Thompson Burns; sons, Wayne Burns and wife Teresa, Larry Burns and wife Teresa, and Edwin Burns and wife Melody; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Burns and wife Alice; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at Reeves Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Southview Baptist Church with Rev. Kinlaw officiating. He will be laid to rest in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
