Norman was born in and lived most of his life in Charleston, SC. He bravely served in the Vietnam War. He loved to tell stories where his sense of humor would always shine through. He was quite the prankster as well. He is preceded in death by his mother, Miriam R. Bouknight; his father, Norman York Parker Sr. He is survived by his wife, Carol Parker; two children, Nicole (Nikki) Parker and Whitney Parker; grandson, Jeffrey Moorer Jr.; brother, David Parker (Tracey); nephew, Ian Parker; stepson, Kristian Sorensen; stepdaughters, Jennifer Wand, and Elizabeth Paschke; several cousins and step-grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by his family, but we know he is in a much better place.
"Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found.
Was blind but now I see."
