Born on September 3, 1931, in Bergerac, France, Jeannine embraced life with a heart full of love and an appreciation for the simple joys that made each day special. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Valerie Kilbourne, Judy Hindman and son-in-law Jesse, and Amy Candler and son-in-law Mark, and her sons Philippe and Alain Kilbourne. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Kelly, Shaun, Heather, Ethan, Charlotte, Isabelle, Dale, Alex and wife Alysaa, and Mayson, as well as her great-grandchildren Lex, Livi, and Dylan. She was predeceased by her parents Renée and Charles, her brother Emile, and her granddaughter Denise.
Jeannine had a sharp mind and a deep love for words—she was an avid reader who could lose herself in the pages of a book for hours and an adept crossword puzzle solver who delighted in the challenge of finding just the right word. She found joy in life’s simplest pleasures: taking leisurely drives around town or basking in the sunlight from her front window like a cat soaking up warmth. If she had it her way, she would have filled all three of her meals with the most decadent sweets that life could offer—especially chocolate and lemon meringue pies.
Music was one of Jeannine’s greatest passions. The soaring voice of Luciano Pavarotti often filled her home so powerfully that it could be heard from the driveway before one even stepped inside. It was not just background noise but a soundtrack to moments both ordinary and profound—a reflection of the depth of feeling she carried within her heart.
Known for her quick wit and infectious humor, Jeannine had a remarkable ability to bring smiles to those around her—whether they were lifelong friends or strangers she had just met. But above all else, she cherished time spent with family. Being surrounded by her children and grandchildren brought her the greatest happiness; their laughter was music to her ears.
Though she is no longer here in body, Jeannine’s spirit lingers in every shared story told with fondness and every note of music that stirs the soul. May the memory of her warmth and laughter bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
