Fred was born in Phenix City, Alabama on September 1, 1951 to the late Horace Fredrick Waters Sr., and Vivian Marie (O’Pry) Waters. He is also preceded in death by his favorite Aunt Margaret Wellman.
Fred was a proud owner of Waters Distributing Co. Inc. for 50 years. He enjoyed many things including playing golf, going to car shows, watching Carolina Tar Heels basketball, and baseball of any kind. Fred loved fancy dinners, great food, as well as simple snacks of Briteleaf Red Hot Dogs. He was known to occasionally have a shot of Crown Royal Black every now and then. Fred loved collecting Real & Model Cars, Swords and Knives, Dragons, Anything Carolina…Go Heels.
He enjoyed cooking for holiday parties at his outdoor kitchen spending time with the neighbors who he referred to as “the street people,”
Fred is survived and will forever be missed by his wife Dee of 28 years, five children, three from a previous marriage; Dee’s two daughters, many grandchildren, and a great grandchild, four brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, and many nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind his beloved bulldogs Cleo & Max.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 4 to 5pm at Reeves Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will begin at 5pm.
