Ennis was a man who was easy to love. He could be friends with anyone and never met a stranger. Je loved racing and made many laps around the dirt track in his red open wheel modified #3 car. It has been said that he was a jack of all trades and master of all. Ennis was a founding member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hope Mills, North Carolina. He was a loving husband, amazing father and grandfather, brother, and friend. He built his career and retired in January 1980 from the United States Army as 82nd, Delta, and Special Forces.
Ennis is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Retha Revels Brewer; his brothers, Ray Brewer, IV Brewer, and Homer Brewer, as well as his sister, Lucy Bell.
Ennis left behind a legacy in his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Noyal Hunt Brewer; his children, Paula Ivey and her husband, James, and Dennis "Denny" Brewer and his wife Kathy; his grandchildren, Bradley Ivey and his wife, Rachael, Joshua Ivey, and Katie Brewer Stubbs and her husband Jacob; his great grandchildren, Shianne Ivey, Ethan Ivey, and Juliette Ivey; his brother, William Brewer and his wife Brenda; his sisters, Annie Sue Jones and Letha Baker and her husband Jerry; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
A visitation with family & friends for Ennis will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, P.O. Box 64, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5991 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A burial with military honors will occur Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 400 Murchison Rd., Spring Lake, North Carolina 28390.
