Dorothy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 17, 1926. Throughout her work life she served as an executive secretary in a number of positions. Her final and most personally rewarding positions were in working for the City of Shaker Heights, Ohio for the Police Chief of Detectives and finally for the Mayor.
With always a kind word and smile for all, she will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. She is survived by her sons, Jim Szoka of Ogden, Utah, John Szoka of Fayetteville, and four grandchildren Kai Szoka of Aurora, Colorado, Richard Szoka of Longview, Washington, Hunter Szoka of Fayetteville and Morgan Szoka of Plano, Texas.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 25 at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope Mills. The family received friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM followed by a service in the Chapel at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials will be made to The Church of the Apostles, 1419 H. Bullard Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348 to support construction of Resurrection Park on the church grounds.
