Charlotte was born on October 25, 1928 to Oskar and Gertrud Muller in Germany. She grew up in Germany and attended University there, receiving a college degree. In 1951, Charlotte came to the United States where she gained citizenship before she married William Icenogle. Their union blessed them with two daughters, Dorothy and Loretta. Charlotte and William owned Square Deal Package Store which was located on Robeson Street in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She also ran a floral shop that she ran out of her home. While William was away with the military, Charlotte took care of her home, and her children. She was very money savvy and saved enough money to make a down payment to purchase a home while her husband was gone with the military. Charlotte was very generous and loved to help people. She was known for feeding children that she knew didn’t have much. She helped families in so many ways, making deals with them that were firm, but fair. She was the oldest member of Pope Chapel and greatly enjoyed attending. She was strong, determined, and fiercely independent, even more so after her husband passed away. Charlotte even mowed her own lawn with a push mower until she was 90 years old.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, William Icenogle; her daughter, Loretta Icenogle Richardson; her grandson, David Tyndall Jr.; and her son in law, David Tyndall. She is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Dorothy Tyndall (Eddie); her grandchildren, Robert Richardson (Radji), Amanda Richardson Taylor (Matt), and Shannon Mundy (Robbie); her great grandchildren, Candace Parker (Dalton), Eben Mundy, Josie Mundy, Jillian Mundy, Riley Richardson, and Cooper Gosciniak; her great-great grandchildren, Emerson, Eden, and Bryant; and her son in law, Robert Richardson.
