On Saturday evening, July 29, 2017 Charles Lee Gainey, 76 was called home to paint his final picture with family gathered by his side.
Charles was born July 18, 1941 in Cheraw, South Carolina to the late Ems and Mamie Jacobs Gainey. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother David Gainey. He was a talented artist and enjoyed showing his works.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 12:30 at Reeves Funeral Home Chapel in Hope Mills with interment to follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Fort Bragg at 2:00 pm. A visitation and viewing will be Wednesday evening at Reeves Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Those left to remember his past and mourn his passing include his wife, Juanita Knight Gainey; children Connie Gainey Howard, Dawn Gainey, Jamie Erbschloe, William Knight, John Knight, Gene Knight; sister Margie McLain; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
