Mr. Bruce was born to the late Richard and Francis Pross in Cromwell, Indiana June 18, 1938. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Pross; his 3 children Vicki Smith (Jack), Pamela Frisbee, and David Pross; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Bruce served 30 years active duty in the army. In that time he served with Special Forces, he was a Ranger, and he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Bruce also served in Vietnam for 3 years. He was one of the first on the ground at Grenada and one of the first to serve in the Peace Keeping Force in 1982. After retiring from the military as a Command Sergeant Major, Mr. Bruce worked for 15 years in civil service.
Mr. Bruce loved to golf and visit the Old Colonial in Williamsburg, VA. But his favorite hobby of them all was spending time with his loving wife and family.
A graveside service with military honors for Bruce will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery, 2881 Gillespie St, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
