We only had the privilege of knowing Webster for a few years, a short time compared to his many lifelong friends.  When we moved onto his street (and I call it that because he seemingly knew every single family on the street) Webster welcomed us with sincere aloha.  He continually followed that up with generosity and warm friendliness.  Webster would always take time from whatever he was doing to say hello, ask about us, and talk story just a bit about his latest project.  He generously shared the gift of his flowers and bulbs with us and the other neighbors.  His plants will be blooming up and down the street for years to come.  It was always a pleasure to talk with Webster and hear another of his many stories - all told with that wry smile of his.  Webster will truly be missed by many.

I have extremely fond memories of Webster:  his love of photography, flowers, and family.  We always talked about his travels to see his children and grandchildren, Asia, Europe...  He proudly showed me his beautiful pictures of his 'Ohana, flowers, fish, boogie boarders...  He had a heap of Photography magazines and we were both bummed out that he developed trigger finger.  Nevertheless, he still took wonderful pictures with a point and shoot.  Webster just had the magic touch and a great eye.

Webster liked gadgets and gave me things like a lighted magnifying glass, mini flash light with LED, a little cloth so I wouldn't get finger prints on my pictures, a few of his photos that he had made into picturesque postcards...

Webster and I shared a love of Ketchup with pork chops - which slightly annoyed Juliette.  He giggled as she winced.  He used to let us pick the dandelions in his yard because Shawn used to love blowing them in the wind.  

I can't express my profound sadness that Webster has passed away.  But, he is immortal now and lives on another plane where he soars, where he sees us.  He's close by and I'll look for him in a light drizzle, the flowers bee-bopping, in a wave, and I'll remember to say - Hi Webster!
