When I feel the sun on my skin I know you’re there. When I hear songs on the radio that we played on your phonograph I know you’re there. Or the wind on my face when I’m riding a bike I know you’re there. When I’m laughing about something funny that only you & I know about I know you’re there or when someone makes fun of me. When I hear someone talk about my short comings I know you’re there.  When I’m surfing I know you’re there. I know and always feel you’re there. 

My biggest regret is not having any photos with you together. However, thank you for your friendship & the opportunity of getting to know you for 28 years. You will be missed. 

Imagine a world where personal dreams are valued less than acts of selflessness to serve family members. Success and wealth are measured by lasting memories of how they made others feel. 

In this alternate reality, souls are awakened, seeking purpose beyond material gain, worldly riches hold no more sway, and souls volunteer on Earth to alleviate human suffering, their main aim.

Upon completing their life missions, souls depart in tranquillity transcending to a higher realm untouched by worldly suffering, awaking rememberers of the temporariness of life while illuminating paths towards love & light. Thomas Yi, a compassionate soul chose this life path where love prevailed & symphony of selflessness shined bright. 

In his professional career, he touched countless hearts.
But his true fulfilment in life came from a specific mission that he claimed made real sense to his existence, caring for his dear elderly mother, Mrs Sang Bok Yi, with Alzheimer's plight.

Instead of admitting to an elderly home, his heart chose the path that felt right and welcomed his mom into the apartment, an act of selflessness over one's own dreams to provide love so pure, and unconditional to care for his mother each day showing gratitude for her sacrifices until the very end.

Reflecting on the past three decades, I, his old roommate in Honolulu, Hawaii, felt blessed to partake in this mission and ponder upon memories, remembering how mystical they were! My big brother, because of your actions and teachings, the world is a brighter place today and you have fulfilled earthly duties for your mother's blessings shall forever shine upon you. 

To my son Ryan, I always express "Don't miss me, son, for I'm always in your heart". And to Thomas, I echo the same sentiment "I will not miss you, for you reside within my heart" forever connected, even when physically apart. 

As all humanity journeys towards the shared destination, until then
