Tautua was born on October 23, 1992, at Kahuku Hospital and while he lived in several cities – Hau’ula, HI, Walnut, CA, Honoka’a, HI, Kona, HI, and Las Vegas, NV – Kahuku was always his home. He was a “Kahuku boy” through and through.
At first glance, Tautua could seem intimidating – after all, he loved playing football and rugby, practiced MMA, and was an avid weightlifter. Those who spoke with him for longer than a few seconds would learn that Tautua was soft-spoken, goofy, smiled easily, and genuinely cared for people – strangers and loved ones alike. He embodied his name, “Tautua,” and was always in the service of others. Service was one of the many ways he showed his love.
Tautua was a loving son, a kind brother, a loyal friend – and above all – a devoted father. He loved his children fiercely. He would always say that his children are his favorite people.
Tautua is preceded in death by his great-grandma, Vaitai; his grandfathers, Edwin Kamauoha and Leo Reed; and his grandmother, Cimeron Reed. He is survived by his children, Marli and Frank; grandmothers, Tusipepa and Debbie; parents, Jonathan and Ellouise; siblings, Felita & Seth; brother-in-law, Kostja; his fiancée, Crystal; and an abundance of beloved aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tautua will be remembered for his tough spirit, gentle demeanor, and kind heart.
