Can't believe how fast time flies...  I realize how fast that goes by with good friends and family.  Coming home will never be the same without Uncle Steve and I will miss the long talks, chili pepper water and pickled onion whenever I open the fridge.

I'm writing this with a broken heart.  I lost a good friend, all those years we've worked together.  I worked there 18 years and Steve around 25 years.  My first six years was with Steve, he was my finger driver and I was his front end loader driver.  Steve always came to work and did his job, we always completed our job.  Those first 6 years we became close, I've always looked forward at every Christmas party at Honolulu Disposal to sit next to Steve and his wife.  I always tell Steve to save me a seat at the table, not because I give him my beer tickets its because we became close, good friends.  But he doesn't show who is his best friend, he gets along with everybody, he don't show any favoritism.  He is respected by every worker there and he'll tell you like it is, if you cross him, Steve was always direct, I going miss him, I'm so sorry.  I'm sending my prayers and blessings to you and your ohana.

One thing that I will forever remember the most about you, is how you supported myself and my siblings through every single thing we did; all of our ventures. From hula shows, to soccer games, to birthday parties, graduations.... there you and Tweet were. I remember looking out into crowds and thinking “there they are!” with smiles on your faces. Steven thank you for being a good brother. You and Loretta both made it possible for me to go to my junior and senior prom. I will always remember the good heart you had. You was my protection growing up. I remember my friends having a crush on you and telling them nope sorry he’s already taken by a wonderful woman. I remember the last time me and Robbie went home and your chilli pepper water and pickled onions.I remember those chilies you had and I made ceviche not knowing how spicy it was and put 8 in it . I’m still in shock and just wished this was all a dream. I can’t get the phone call out of my mind. Thank you so much for being a good father to annette and Scottie. If it wasn’t for you and Loretta don’t know where those kids would be. Thank you for everything. 

Uncle, you remind me that life is about the moments we share with loved ones. So often we get busy with life that we forget to pause and take time to build memories with those around us. I will always cherish our last moments together celebrating the new year, 2021. I think back to those childhood memories of building toy models of classic cars, fishing, crabbing, camping, eating your fried rice, buying anything with a Budweiser logo lol...some of which I got to share with you again last month. We even created new memories...who knew I would like pickled onions. Remember you are loved, you are missed, but above all, you made an impact on many of our lives, which will never be forgotten. I will cherish those last moments we had when we came recently in December 2020 and the only thing I think is “Still the same uncle.” Thank you for never changing and always loving me even from afar. I will never forget you coming to grandmas and showing us what you found that day at work in the trash and Keoni and me being so amazed but Anything from you was always a gift even trash lol I remember one day you gave me CD and the artist was Buffy :/ I didn’t know who she was haha  but I played that CD non stop like she was a big artist just because you got it for me. Hello Sis, I wanted to share my memories of Steven the man who made you happy for all those years. I remember when you both first meet. It was at a car show and you were in the bikini contact and won first runner up.  After that you both were insuperable of each other.  I also remember when Steven would walk Keoni to school every morning. Keoni with his ninja turtle back pack and Steven holding hands walking to Aliiolani  Elementary school. Keoni would say mom uncle walks really fast ☺️.  When we were in Hawaii in December of 2020 those days were so special to have spent it with Steven. His pickle onions and pickle cucumber was the best 😊.  Steven will be miss by many and loved in so many ways. Rest In Peace Steven and Thank you for making sister happy for all those years.

Stevo, it’s so hard to say good bye , so I’ll say I’ll see you later! I’ll always remember the great times we always had  As family , us living by each other, being apart of u and Retta’s wedding. Our night of playing cards and ppl calling the cops on us. Hangin out at our house on Friday nights. Wrestling on mondays. And most of all just being there for us and my kids . You and retta always showed us and especially my kids so much love. You both loved them like they was ur own. Brandon admired and loved his unko stevo and would wait for him to come home everyday from wrk!  You will be missed so much , but never forgotten.
