Still do now and then with always-so-lively JoAnn and now with her wonderful daughter Jamie too. I am always sure your spirit and presence is always with us when we get together.

Sammy hired me as a draftsman  for Pacific Cabinets/Hawaii Seating Company in 1981.  It was my first full time job after graduating from high school (Radford/San Pasqual).  I remember him as a kind, patient, generous man.  His bride, Joann, was also very kind to me.
I moved to mainland in 1988 and am back home to take care of my Dad’s funeral.  I was sorry to find Sammy’s obituary when I looked him up.
Now that I have worked for dozens of bosses, I realize how blessed I was to work for someone like Sammy.

There is a quote that says memories give us second chances to happiness.    

As a person who always thinks about food, I would fondly remember sharing a delicious meal or light snack on JoAnn's and Sam's lanai and having a friendly conversation with them.  And as the quote goes, those memories always brings happiness for me.

Thank you Sam for those memories, and I shall always continue with more memories to come with JoAnn.  Thank you too JoAnn for caring for Sam!

Miss you my friend, but good news.  Here in Denver we found a Hawaiian place that can make fried rice ALMOST as good as yours.  We go there often, and always get a side of that rice and think about all the goofy, good,  fun times we had together.  We’re so grateful!

To the Yee Ohana:

Sam will always be remembered as a wonderful gentleman, reserved, thoughtful and caring.  He never spoke ill of anyone and never hesitated to help others.

He left a beautiful family and loving sister, a stark reflection of how he lived and loved life and how he touched everyone's lives and hearts.

Sammy was a great brother in law to me and my family, his is desperately missed. The good die too young so they say. Love to My Sister M. Joann Yee,  Jamie O. Yee, and Shar his Sister and all the families of same. Love and Happy Trails my brother from another mother.  James Tuck over and out!

Since 1973 I have had the pleasure of knowing Sammy Yee and his fun loving wife JoAnn.  As our families grew, we shared baby showers, weddings, vacations, families and friends.  We have become our own extended family that we will always cherish.  We’ll see you on the other side Sammy.  Man we’ve had some laughs!

Sam and I were in the same boy scouts in troop 34 located on Judd St....we had a great time learning the sport of scouting and going to camps together....after we would take Sam home up at Alewa Heights....and look forward to our next week meeting....Then eventually we again met at Iolani School....and continued our friendship to graduation....then we parted our ways after graduation....however we would eventually see each other and talk about the great memories we had together....aloha to we meet again...Bill

My deepest condolences on Sam's passing.  You are admirable in the fortitude and strength by which you faced Sam's illness and his passing. How blessed we are to know each of you, a better wish we could not have.

Though we only knew Sammy for a few short years, JoAnn, we were comfortable with him from the start. We loved his quiet, gentle ways, his kind, soft-spoken demeanor, his subtle sense of humor and admired the love he had for you and Jamie.  We are forever grateful to have known him and to have had the privilege of calling him a friend. Love and prayers are with you, Jamie and Shar...Rest in love and peace, dear Sammy!

Sam had always been there for both CL and I since the day we came to the islands for our retirement.  He had given us advices,  ideas, opinion, inputs for any decisions we have made to make the islands to be our home.  His love
