Born on July 26, 1937, Dutchy Mossman passed away peacefully at
Ku’u Home Aloha, the family home in Kane’ohe, HI, on October 3,
2015 at the age of 78, surrounded by loved ones.
He was preceded in death by parents Richard N. K. “Dickie”
Mossman Jr. and Katherine “Katie” Kalahui Mossman, and first wife
Jonnita L. “Midge” Thompson. Dutchy is survived by his beloved
wife of 31 years, Carolyn Weight Mossman; brother Judge Boyd P.
(Maile) Mossman (Ret) - Pukalani, Maui; sister Bina M. (Michael) Chun
-Waimea, Hawaii; sons Parker K. “Duke” (Becky) Mossman - Heber,
Utah, Konrad K. “Kala” (Huihui) Mossman - Waiohinu, HI, Jeff (Dani)
Hickman - Waipio, HI, and Michael B.K. “Kohono” (Chihiro) Mossman,
Kane’ohe HI; daughters Jennifer A. “Aulani” (Brian) Arzadon –
Kane’ohe, HI, Bina K. “Kawe” (Sione) Saafi -Dumfries, Virginia; hanai
daughter Rosana (Jon) Luc-Honolulu, HI; special niece Ka’ili “Babes”
Chun – Nu’uanu, HI; and 22 grandchildren.
Professionally, Dutchy had a long career in the hospitality industry
managing restaurants across the state including the Hob Nob, Tiki
Tops, the Ilikai, Makaha Inn, Orson’s and Princeville, concluding his
career teaching in the hospitality department at Kapi’olani
Community College.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015.
Visitation at 10:00 AM followed by services at 11:00 AM at the Waikalua
Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
(45-150 Waikalua Road, Kane’ohe).
