Hi Linda, I am not sure if you will remember me, my name is Debbie.  You, Philip, and my mother were great friends in Hi many, many, years ago.  Her name was Patty Pinelli.  I was reminiscing with my son about my days in Hi and decided to do a search for Philip and came across his obituary.  I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing.  He was a wonderful, gentle, man who always treated me so kind..  I have fond memories of him coming to visit on weekends with a box of donuts.  He whistled at the window until we opened the door. Dearest Linda and family, memories of my life in Hawaii will always include Philip and the friendship we had.  It seems whenever there was a need, he was there with a helping hand and a huge smile.  He was a kind and gentle man who will be sorely missed.  May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Philip at Lewers & Cooke from 1966 to 1978 when the company laid me off...in those 12 years I started as a laborer unloading the containers that Philip brought in to the loading dock at the Piikoi St. yard. In the years that followed I worked my way up to tractor trailer driver with Philip as one of my teachers...it was a great time of friendship and togetherness...may you rest in peace brother Philip!

Sad to hear of Phil's passing. Miss seeing him 'holding court' at Ala Moana, at the Food Court of course, I looked for him every time I passed through there. And, oh, that smile...Bless you all during this difficult time.

Dearest Aunty Linda, I was truly sadden to hear that Uncle Phillip passed away, I'm glad that I ran into you at Times Supermarket while uncle was still here. when you shared with me uncle's condition I was heartbroken. I want to Mahalo you and uncle for being my special customers at Zippy's. I really enjoyed serving the both of you. uncle made me feel really special when he asked how my three boys where doing from when they little and even so when there all grown up, I especially enjoyed seeing him smile when I would share with him on how well they where doing. RIP Uncle and Take care Aunty.

Dearest Linda, Philip, and 'ohana, you now have the fortune of a gentle Hawaiian angel watching over you.  Philip was such a good man, our deepest condolences to you all.  I remember - Whenever I called Linda and got Philip on the line, I always enjoyed his kind voice and gentle sense of humor.    I will always remember his warm voice.  My 'ohana enjoyed the time Philip and Linda when they came out to the wilds of Waipahu for dinner years ago.  I remeber Hulali looking up at him like he was a tall redwood tree.  M'Liss remembers how Philip showed us how to get poi out the bag in a great way we still do today:  He showed us to fold back the bag and squeeze it out so the bag wouldn't get messy. I had the absolute pleasure of calling this beautiful man my father-in-law and sharing a roof with him for the last two years.  Dad told the most incredible stories of his childhood - stories of all of you - stories of those he loved and what made his life joyous.  He cherished his wife and adored his son to the moon and back.  Daddy offered his heart, his home, and his life to anyone who'd join along in his journey.  Generous, silly, loving, hilarious, contemplative, and honorable.  Simply put - one helluva man who will be missed so greatly by a vast ocean of loved ones and 'ohana.

Rest easy, Daddy.  We'll look for you in all the beauty of this world.

"My Papa" has been in my life since before I was born. He has always been apart of my family. Papa and my Auntie Linda Kahalelehua have always opened their home and hearts to us. He was a Great Man and will Always have a special place in my heart. I Love you My Papa

He was one of my favorites to visit when I'd come to the Kahalelehua house!  We would sit in the kitchen, eat malasadas and talk about any and everything! He will always be in my heart!  Love you my papa and I will always keep your warm hugs and long talks close to my heart.  Love you soo much!

I do not the man but I do know his son Phil, and his son is one of the sweetest kind and funniest person I know. If he raise such a son than his father was a great man.

I only have my childhood memories, wish I had more.  I will always love you and remember your amazing teddy bear hugs.

The most memorable things about Uncle Junior is that he was always excited and happy to see us and a joy to be around. He also came to all family functions. What a great man!!! Uncle  UDABEST.

The most memorable thing about Uncle Junior is his smile.  He was always smiling.  I will never forget the many visits to our home by him and Linda. Uncle Junior and Linda always brought us a cherry pie, along with other pies, because he knew that I liked cherry pie. He was kind and generous and loved his ohana.  We felt that love from him.  Aloha, Uncle Junior, you were a credit to the Hawaiian people and now you go to your Heavenly Father.  Please give your cousin, Johnny Boy, and Ming Ming a big hug and kiss from me.
