Masanori Ohara, 96, resident of Waipahu, passed away peacefully on 14 July 2021. He was born in Pahoa on the Big Island in 1925 to immigrant parents from Japan and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Ohara was a retired carpenter and an active, long-time member of the Waipahu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. He was a kind and quiet man who loved his family, cats, sports and oxtail soup, and will be missed by those who knew him best.
