He was 74 years old. He was the 5 th eldest of 16 children born on June 1, 1948 in Pago Pago, American
Samoa to the late Paramount Chief Muagututi’a Lene Su’euga Manuma, Sr. & the late Faleiva
Ofoia Manuma. He retired from the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander after 29
years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. He was preceded in
death by his parents, sister To’aiva Sagapolutele (2013) and brothers Gagamoe (2021) and
Manea (2020).
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Valerie and daughter, Leneah Suzette; Sisters:
Maiva Epenesa (Taito Viefu), Fa’aletaua Saifoloi (Saifoloi, Jr.), Emele Manuma, Makerita
Richardson (Jerry), Rosalie Pese (Neueli), Rosalin Maika (Simi), Tianatama’ita’i Seumalo
(Alailotoo’o Vaioa), Faleiva Augafa (Pomele Aoatoa); Brothers: Frank (Deborah), Matthew
(Susan), Viavia (Katie), Epalea, Alipapa Kolisi, and many nieces and nephews.
