He was born to the late Jensen K. Zablan and Annette Louise Kim Han, October 14, 1949, in Honolulu, HI. Uncle Larry graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967. He married Julie-Ann Malczon-Zablan in June 1994.
Uncle Larry was a life long educator of Hawaiiana and very passionate about sharing his love of the culture with all those he came in to contact with. He started off as a tour bus driver, singing to the tourists on board and sharing little tidbits of Hawaiʻi trivia. Uncle Larry was known to throw in a joke or two and was always able to woo the crowd. Over the years his love for the people and Hawaiian culture grew as did his knowledge of the islands. Eventually Uncle Larry began teaching the other drivers how to use their "5 senses" in order to share the true meaning of ALOHA. After 42 years of service with Roberts Hawaii, Uncle Larry retired in December of 2013.
Uncle Larry is survived by his daughter Leslie Diane Kawehilani (Zablan) Bailon; stepson Ronald Loo; stepson Andrew "Bo" Loo; stepdaughter Jamie Guerra; granddaughter Kamelelananahenahe "Nahe" Bailon; grandson Kuʻumakaonaona "Maka" Bailon; granddaughter Anela Loo; grandson Seth "Keka" Loo; granddaughter Daijha Loo; granddaughter Reagan Guerra; granddaughter Madison Guerra; great-grandson Skyden Loo-Rosales; great-grandson Tyson Loo-Rosales; great-granddaughter Merahi Teriipaia-Loo; and great-grandson Kionu Pasco.
