Born to Shar Fat Chang and Ng Sui Yee the second oldest of 6 children in Honolulu Hawaii
Jeanette lived most of her life in the Makiki area of Honolulu graduating from Mckinley High School in 1944. She was a single parent of 3 girls Beverlyn Wong, Jeralyn Hughes, and Wendy Wong. Jeanette was an active person who had many interest like majong, bowling, tennis, dancing, and keeping up with her 7 grandchildren Ken(JR), Dominic and Jonathon(Keoni) Yette, Amber and Zackary Cleveland, Kekoakamalani (KKY) Comeaux and Briget Hughes.
She worked at Mary Alice in Kaimuki, Golden Palace at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, Halekulani in Waikiki and the Andrade Stores. Later in life she volunteered at HCAP and worked with seniors, where she was able to share her love of craft making. Another past time was to spend time with her 5 great- grandchildren Brandi, Ricky, Jayden(JJ), Kekoakamalani(Little Man) and Kaiolina.
She had a passion for travel and was fortunate to be able to see many places. She made it to China twice once by ship and once by flying. She flew and sailed to the outside Islands, drove cross country from Boston to Washington State by car, sailed to Alaska and through the Panama Canal to Mexico as well as the Caribbean.
She was our hero. We were her life. We love and miss her and we’re all very blessed to of had the moments we shared.
Always a lady and the Matriarch of our family.
A celebrate of life will be held at Hawaiian Memorial cemetery in Kaneohe on 3/12/2014 at 1PM.
