James (Jimmy) C. J. Kop, 91, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 17, 2017. He was born in Honolulu on December 7, 1925. James attended McKinley High School and was a proud World War II Army veteran. He retired from Pearl Harbor Shipyard-Public Works Center as a Carpenter Supervisor after 33 years. He enjoyed swimming, jogging and gardening, traveling to Las Vegas and playing mahjong.
He is survived by his wife Constance (Connie) of 68 years; daughter Alma Freitas (Richard); grandchildren Ryan Freitas (Kathy), Vanessa Freitas-Gueco, and Darren Freitas (Caroline); and six great grandchildren. James also leaves behind his brother Stanley Kop and sisters Delores Nelson, Norma Kop and Janice Oda. His is predeceased by his son Jeffery Kop.
Visitation and Services to be held Thursday, July 13 at Borthwick Mortuary. Visitation from 10:30 AM. Services start at 11:30 AM. Burial 1:00 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Aloha attire.
