I hired Fay in 1985 when she was 17.  I was just starting my own company Island Masters and needed some friendly smart smiling staff to greet tourists at the airport, get them to their hotels, attend tour briefings to help plan optional events etc.  Fay was one of the best employees I ever had.  She was always on time, always professional and shared her Aloha Spirit with thousands of tourists over the years.  Later on when I joined Regal Travel I asked Fay to join me again and we worked together there for a dozen or so years.

During that time we were starting up a lot of escorted Bangkok shopping trips as well as cruise vacations to Alaska and around the world.  Fay immediately fell in love with the cruise life as well as the Bangkok shopping life.  She escorted hundreds of kamaaina on Regal Travel vacations.  Never one time did I ever get any reports on Fay except glowing thank yous from our clients.  Everybody loved Fay and Fay loved everybody (well most everybody).  She especially loved Crystal Cruises which was a very upscale experience for all.

It was a pleasure to be Fay's "boss"  (or maybe she was really my boss?) for all those years.  She was one of the very best.

Aloha ke akua to my sista, Fay!

I met Fay over 20 years ago thru our many travels to/from Thailand.  She was one of our tour escorts, and then it grew into a personal friendship.  I met her husband, Kaleo; her braddah, Lee, sisters Christine and Mel, her inlaws, da Kana's and Deenie.  Was like instant ohana! 

We had lots of adventures during our trips; we'd shop 24/7, go on tours to factories, eat at great restaurants,  get da best Thai massages, and meet local Thai people.   Being on any tour with Fay was like an experience of a lifetime, and always so memorable because of what she put into it to give you the full experience.  She was very knowledgable and always willing to share.   But even home here on Oahu, we still had fun times together, whether it was just catching up with gossip & grinds,  meeting up with family and friends from afar, we would always be having a great time and laughing.

A few years ago, I was saddened to hear about her cancer, but heard she was a fighter .  Then shocked again when it returned, and took over her life.  I know she fought to the end.  She lived a very good 52 years of her life.  I will miss her infectious smile, warm heart and big personality.  

Many blessings to  the family during this time, we shall cherish the fond memories we have of her.   She is gone, but never forgotten💜.

I won the “Sister-in-Law Lottery” when Fay met my brother. I couldn’t have handpicked a better addition to our family. Thank you for so many wonderful memories; I cherish each and every one. Thank you for the adventures, the laughs, and all the fun times. Thank you for being someone I (and our whole family) could always depend on. Thank you for being the best sister I could’ve ever wished for. Thank you for being a blessing to our family. I will miss you.

To Fay, one of the most  loving, caring person I ever met.  From those many Bangkok trips  together.  I remember  Geri, Fay and I  going up a  mountain  to a cave and hot springs.  Fay and I  went into the hot springs  in rooms next to each other.  We were  talking  loudly, " Is your water  hot?" Lol.   Geri's  like "We can hear you outside. " 
 Fay would bring her dog Piko to me  for nail trim.  Piko hated it.  She would meet at my Mom's house  so  Piko could see my dog  Hana, her friend.  Fay would  always  ask  about   the latest news of my family. 
 Fay, a good friend,  a world traveler  and always with a smile. 
We will  miss you. Rest in peace.

Our family first met Fay through our annual travels to Bangkok and Regal Travel beginning probably around 1996.  The first year my sister Lani and I went, we would check in daily with the group tour guides during breakfast at The Grand President Executive Serviced apartments. Everyday Lani and I would report our daily shopping plans and disappear for hours.  Since the majority of the group were senior citizens, Lani and I were the anomaly in adventuring to different shopping places (this was all before the ease of using the BTS Skytrain and MRT).   After a few days of reporting in, the tour guides decided to follow us and see what we were spending hours away doing.  Little did we know that some of our favorite shopping places, sites and scenes would largely become some of Regal's Bangkok tour for many years.  Bangkok would become the Santos sisters annual holiday shopping trip and Fay would become one of our favorite tour guides along with Geri Hoshino. The best part was that we all found our equal in Olympic gold medal shopping.  Fay loved to shop just as much as we did.  We discovered and shared many great places to get the best deals on replica designer handbags, artisan crafts, clothing and jewelry.  One of my favorite memories of Fay is that she would tell the hundreds of people who took the Bangkok tour through out the year that the Santos Pub located in the red light district of Patpong was owned by the Santos sisters from the islands. Who knows how many still believe this to be true.  LOL!    Thank you Fay for your care, friendship and love over the years, we always had such a great time together when we traveled.  May you rest easy now, you will be greatly missed.  Until we meet again, Pami & Paloma

My six sisters and I first met Fay when we would join her and Geri on their Bangkok/Chiang Mai tours. We Santos sisters would crowd out Kaleo from the back of the tour bus. Traveling with Fay was always fun, she WAS the ultimate shopper at Pratunam, Weekend Market, MBK,  Baan Tawai & Jade Factory!!  I will always remember Fay  and keep her traveling spirit alive in my memories💝

Faye an awesome friend, loving, caring, and always smiling. I knew Faye and Donald for over 20 years. Faye and Donald always came over to the Robb's house for all occasions. One occasion was always New Year's, and they would make their famous haupia, so ono!! Always interacting with our family and always there when we needed them. Another memory I have was at their wedding, Faye presented me with her bouquet, I was so honored that she thought of me. Faye, you will always be in my heart, you were heaven sent to us to put joy in our hearts and a smile that will always be with me. I love you guys so much 

Kaleo (Donald) is my first cousin.  I remember first meeting Failynn when I was younger.  We're in Aunty Keala's (Kaleo's mom) car, I think it was a Datsun station wagon.  It was the obligatory 'date' where you show you're the responsible person.  Kaleo is taking myself, my sister (Sheryl) and Deenie (his sister) to Fun Factory at the Windward Mall, and picking up Fay along the way.  Already, the three girls are giggling and pushing, not wanting to be in the middle in the back seat of the car.  And as always, since grandma wasn't around, Honey Girl (my sister, Sheryl), catch cracks being the youngest so she's in the middle.  The WHOLE drive from Aunty's house on Oneawa street to Fays house in Kaneohe, we get the lectures on what we can say, what we can't say, what we can DO, and what we can't, from Kaleo.  And I'm wondering, who would want to put up with my cousin . .. . . then along came that angel.  Long black hair, pinned back, smiling and walking to the car.  She's been with us ever since.  From playing cards and letting my mom , make her own rules to the game, to letting me hold her hand and hug her tight during my grandma's funeral and spreading ashes.  She's been there at key moments,  and will be TERRIBLY missed.  Kaleo, you've always been the one we all (cousins) turn too, and now I hope you know that we're all there waiting and willing for you to turn our way, to be there for you.  I love you, Kaleo.  My thoughts and prayers with you, Aunty Keala, Uncle Sonny, Deenie & No'e.

Donald, I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Faye, who had an amazing smile and heart of gold.  God must have needed her bad to take her so young.  You’ve now gained a new angel to watch over you.  I only wish we’d gotten a chance to travel with you guys before her passing.  Perhaps we should plan a yearly Memorial celebration trip to celebrate Faye...i’ll go!  Sending lots of Love and Aloha to the whole Ohana!
