He was born on January 29, 1928, in Honolulu, HI and resided in Aiea. Ernest was a veteran for the U.S. Army and worked in Civil Sevice for the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Murakami; Sons, Paul, Melvin and Bert; Daughters, Sharon Kaneakua and Sharlene Kamiya. Sisters, Alice Yamada, Smiles Koike, and Violet Hanashiro. 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
