Born to James and Dorothy Lo on September 1, 1944, in Honolulu, Cynthia grew up on River Street with her two brothers and five sisters. After attending McKinley high school, she continued her education at Honolulu Community College.
Following a 33 year career at First Hawaiian Bank (1972-2005), Cynthia continued to work for several more years as a part-time lunch supervisor at both Mililani and Campbell High Schools.
She enjoyed her retirement doing what she loved: spending time with extended family and friends, reading, listening to oldies but goodies, watching game shows and football on television, playing Bingo, and traveling to Las Vegas.
Cynthia was predeceased by her husband, Herbert M. Nuʻuanu Sr., and her grandson, Herbert Moana Nuʻuanu III. She is survived by sons Bert (Jan) and Clint (Charmaine); daughter, Lordell Kaʻoi; sister, Shirley Mulleitner; brother, Patrick Lo; grandchildren, Sheri Lynn (Jerry) Rick, Kaliko, and Blake Nuʻuanu; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Honolulu Country Club on September 1, 2023 at 5:30pm.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BorthwickOahu.com for the Nuuanu family.
