Wayne George Kruk

Wayne went home to the arms of the Lord on July 9, 2023. He was born to the late, George & Tudi Kruk, 94 years ago in Chicago, Illinois. He served for four years in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He then attended the College of Advanced Traffic in Chicago for four and a half years and taught there while holding down various positions in the transportation field with companies like American Airlines, Sante Fe Railroad, Cook Electric Company and Vaughan Seed Company. He retired as Transportation Manager of Pepperidge Farm, Downers Grove, IL in 1996. His community service included over 25 years with the Brookfield, IL Police Dept. where he retired as Captain of the Auxiliary Police Corps. Wayne moved to Florida in 1998 to concentrate on his hobbies of woodworking, photography and his lifelong hobby of model railroading and railfanning throughout the U.S. and England. He is a member of Life Tree Presbyterian Church in Crystal River, FL where he served on Session and many other committees. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Cindy; niece Pamela (Thas) Schabes and husband Kurt of Ada, MI; great niece Kailene (Schabes) DeVries and husband T.J. and their children Neil and Izzy of Rockford, MI; great nephew Brandon Schabes of Schenectady, NY; and great niece Crystal Thas and her daughter Emily of Richmond, KY. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Lois (Kruk) and Peter Thas; brother, Ron Kruk; great niece and husband, Dawn (Thas) and Jim Angarone and great nephew, Brian Thas.

Cremation is being handled by Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations and remembrances can be made to Life Tree Presbyterian Church, 1501 SE U.S. Hwy 19, Crystal River, FL 34429, (352)795-2259.
