Shirley Brahm Boyer, 91, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Mon., January 20, 2025 at Sugarmill Manor Assisted Living in Homosassa. A native of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, she was born January 5, 1934 to Sanford and Zella (Gallagher) Brahm, one of four children. In addition to being a lifelong homemaker and loving mother to her four children, Shirley’s employment career held several facets, including being employed with AMP, Inc. and then followed by BorgWarner, Inc. as a time study technician determining production rates for the company. Shirley moved to Citrus County from York, Pennsylvania and was a talented and gifted ballroom dancer. She was of the Presbyterian faith and was known for always being there for her children while they were growing up. Earlier in her life as a Navy wife with her husband and love of her life, Bernard Werking, she traveled extensively and enjoyed boating and water skiing. Shirley was adored by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers; Sanford, Gilbert and Raymond Brahm. Shirley is survived by her three daughters: Cheryl Werking and Nancy Nix, both of Chassahowitzka, Florida, and Mary Julian of York, Pennsylvania; son Bryon Werking of Brooksville, Florida; grandchildren Jason Neal (wife Danielle) of Brogue, Pennsylvania; Amy Tressler of Chassahowitzka, Florida; Donald Hoff (wife Katie) of Milesburg, Pennsylvania; Joseph Testa (wife Lexie) of Lansing, Michigan; Daniel Dakota Nix (Ronni Caulder) of Philadelphia, Tennessee; Amanda Brown (husband Eric) of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; Derek Julian of Blue Ash, Ohio; Laura Gartland (husband Ryan) of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania and Justin Werking of Gurnee, Illinois; eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
