Ruth E. Healy, 95, of Lecanto, FL and formerly of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Fri., Feb. 2, 2018, at Life Care Center of Citrus County. A native of Detroit, MI, she was born Sept. 15, 1922, to Arthur and Lillian (Belk) Engel, one of two children. A loving homemaker, Ruth moved to Sugarmill Woods in 1991 from Morristown, NJ with her late husband of 67 years, Lawrence “Larry”, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2013. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa. She was a sweet and pleasant person whose positive view of life and loving, caring ways was an inspiration to all. She was always an active member of her community and enjoyed going on cruises and playing bridge. Ruth is survived by her two children: Michael Healy, M.D. (fiancé Angi Burel), Toledo, OH and Patricia “Patti” Burn (husband J.Randall), Beverly Hills, FL; grandchildren James, Laura, Renee, Georgia, Candice, Christina, Brittany, Michelle and Megan; great-grandchildren Nile and William. In addition to her parents and her husband Lawrence, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Priscilla Judd. A celebration of Ruth’s life will take place on Fri., Feb. 9, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida with Dr. Paul L. Hall, Sr. of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
